Zhang’s understanding of childhood memories and trauma is like a shining rock at the bottom of
a lake: hidden, but visible from moments to moments. In the show she dived deep into her perosnal
recollection of unsettling and unqniue fragments of her past. Bringing the past and the present into
the same sapce with photos, oil paintings, animations, and scultprues, Zhang invites the audeinces
to call back to their own childhood to find answers about their presents.
